Time travellers save the Messiah

Have time travellers really returned to our present to save the eventual savior? Or was it just an elaborate intricate hoax played by total strangers? The answer lies in part 2 of this bizarre real-life tale. I guarantee that you find this an amusing and quite entertaining read. Hollywood, please take notes. All hail Kolin Pope!

You're kidding about this being a hoax, right?

To think that some random people would both plan and finance this is equally ridiculous as marvelous.

As I recall, this is Yet Another Amusing Internet Thing that started in the SA Forums quite a while back.

I'm starting to sound like a shill for Lowtax.

Entertaining read. Good right up to the D20 dice reference. And, isn't that a map from the Star Frontiers original set? Fun link, I've been to that Chucky Cheese. Makes me wonder what ever happened to the fellow that was supposed to meet his future self in New York a while back.

I'm scared. Nerdy gamers are supposed to save the world?

I think I'd prefer the cold impersonal kiss of death from robots versus the clammy panicy groping of a gamer nerd.

However it was a fun read, love to know the whole story.

Sort of like a Dork's Discordia.

So if one wishes for a Metafilter episode of similar character, does that automatically keep it from happening?

There's such a thing as Zangief fan fiction?

He pulled out a d20, and raised it above his head for a moment, then threw it along the ground towards me. The camera still rested next to his feet, recording everything. I picked up the die, and asked him “…What is the saving throw?”

Okay. That part was funny. I think.

I really enjoyed this post but after digging through it I went to the main site. I then noticed through a few clicks here and there that Kolin Pope is in the same exact building as me right now. I'm a little creeped out by that.

Anyone else notice how close Kolin Pope sounds to Colon Poop?

I've seen posts on here before where people get randomly handed plans for a time machine, supposedly that came from the future

how come nothing interesting ever happens to me?

All those visitors from the future and not a single stock tip?

A time traveler is basically a thief. They either want to steal artifacts or information that are valuable to their "now".

The map is from a Traveller expansion set.
