It's 7:30 Pacific Time and President Bush is accepting the nomination of a roaring crowd of Republicans. To be fair and offer equal time, here is a rebuttal opinion piece from the NYT titled, "Cutups and Cutthroats" by Maureen Dowd,

Wait, I thought equal time was that... convention thing with roaring crowds of democrats awhile ago?

Man, I hate it when Bush speaks on TV. Takes me a half hour to clean those butt-prints off the screen.

This is a pretty crappy post.. but sweet jesus I can't stop myself from yelling at the tv at that dry-drunk twit.

And I can't say anything about that crowd without someone accusing me of godwin related program activities.

I liked the part where they started arresting people.

God knows, I'm--in the words of Bob Dole--liberal, liberal, liberal  but... Maureen Dowd? Puh-leeze. Administrator, hope us please!

So is it "Four More Years" or "Viva Bush" (or "Flip Flop")?
For a party destined to rule the world, I wish they'd at least get their chants right.

Honestly, I miss speeches that don't pause every 10 seconds for a soundbite. I don't care if your party is the Baby Punching Party, but if you can draw me in and keep me listening for 15+ minutes, I'm yours.

If you say the heart and soul of America are found in Hollywood, you are not the candidate of American values.

30 seconds later, Bush announces that if you're not in step with Reagan, you're not the candidate of American values. I guess Reagan had little to do with Hollywood. What would Arnold say?

Although this clip from the Letterman Show focused on Maureen Dowd dislike for both candidates, elsewhere in the show (after a bit of prodding from Dave) she essentially predicted a Bush victory.

She's right.
