Glad Waters is still producing music, but his songs sound exactly the same as on the Final Cut, Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. I guess he found a style and has stuck to it (he's in a groove, or is it a rut?). "Kill the Child" is okay, but I could only get half-way through "Beirut" before I lost interest.

Did anyone bother to read the lyrics? Yeah, the music sucked ass, and sounds exactly like Final Cut and Pros and Cons (as others have pointed out), but the lyrics are poignant.

I can't figure out how Waters and Gilmore produced such good stuff together when looking at the solo material. Perhaps Nick Mason and Richard Wright had more influence than given credit for. BTW good wikipedia article. Collaborative efforts rule.

Good for him for writing and recording them. I hope I'm still doing the things I loved in my life when I'm in my sixties. I hope I still feel I have things to say about the world.
Good for him for recognising them for what they are and giving them away for free. I'm glad to have heard them but I certainly can't see me listening to them ever again after today.
Shame on sony for a press release containing phrases such as Essential New Tracks, or important new songs, or, lord have mercy, The two new songs represent a significant addition to Waters' groundbreaking oeuvre, cause it just ain't true.
