Tiddlywiki looks fantastic, but the idea's so cool I'm still not sure what I'd use it for. So far, there's a only a tiddly hypertext story. Bears watching.

First thing that comes to mind for use is those Choose Your Own Adventure Books.

Kind of neat stuff and I'm sure I'm missing like 95% of the cool in it.

Some years ago I had an idea for something called "Alphabet Soup" where I'd take a word and write a few paragraphs that just came to mind at the moment and then link to other words in the text and vamp on whatever they made me think about and really it was kinda stupid but the intent was to do a hypertext stream of consciousness thing for short attention spans or long winded narcisists. The problem was doing it manually, going back and making words clickable and writing up new stuff as it came to me - doing all this in notepad was a major pain in the butt and the end result looked cute but was completely pointless. Fun at the time but not worth the effort. Something like this would make something like that a lot easier to do, but no more valid.

This is so innovative that I'm afraid I'm not smart enough to do anything with it.

There are actually help systems that work something like this already, e.g. the commercial Treeview. I think the interesting part is the way it incorporates editing, but of course being limited to Javascript it can't make your edits permanent (unless you go outside the browser by saving the source).

It's so cool it's giving me that urge to come up with an excuse to use it ... though at the moment, I can't think of what I would use it for. Really neat though!
