Thanks, machaus -- that cracked me up. Like many Gould fans, though, I always loved his un-editable singing, and would hate it if they ever managed to remove it entirely.

I think the first example works better because it keeps the setup and punchline in the correct order.

I like Glenn Gould's technique, but I find the humming so annoying that I can't listen to his recordings. It's the Charles Rosen recording of the Goldberg Variations for me, thanks.
