I liked the spirit, but the delivery didn't impress me much ; unfortunately delivery method and circumstances play a role too ..for instance I'll hardly forget Jon Steward at Crossfire who managed to captivate the audience in some way that (it seems to me) awaked some of them from the torpor of the sedating , hypnothizing effects of incessant repetition. posted by elpapacito at 10:09 AM on October 18, 2004
Good intentions, perhaps, but it was aural and visual fromage. The imagery and messages were rote and sappy. The earnest and one-dimensional thoughts are on the level of something I'd expect from the Other Side.
My old art history professor used to say that besides Picasso's Guernica, there's no such thing as good political art. Of course this is a gross generalisation, but when I see things like this, I think I see where he's coming from... posted by picea at 10:22 AM on October 18, 2004
