Ooops. Bloghop make the coolest error ever. Admitedly it's only cool for me. You see...(more inside).
I have to admit I've been studiously ignoring Bloghop since my first peek. It's a great idea, but...
A few years ago I was very involved in an interesting publicly-rated writing site. What I discovered was that a lot of people got hit with bad ratings out of spite. A few immature, angry people found ways to vote repeatedly. This was impossible to prevent because of the nature of the experiment. Eventually it just wasn't worth my time.
My first look at Bloghop showed the same things--great blogs with low ratings--probably because of their popularity.
Perhaps this will even out over time, but for now, I prefer to cruise good review sites without public input. It's a pity, because Bloghop looks like a fun endeavor with great potential. I do hope it doesn't become a victim of spiteful individuals.

bay:No. I don't run blog hop. It's so depressing in a way, because I know for a fact that there is no way that my blogs will ever be top of any poll. I think I may ask the people who do run it if they want to wipe my rating. Should I?
fry:personally I couldn't care less about poor reviews. Bare in mind that my rating on bloghop is a result of all the votes that people cast from websites. the fact that my rating is overwhelmingly positive would indicate that most people only bother to vote up.

Don't know about fry but I care because I'm a lonely witless loser. Internet ratings are the only sign I have that people care about me. And I need your love so bad.
