Mans with no hands fails to climb Everest. He lost his hands climbing McKinley, which is a sure sign that hands or non-hands you're a crappy climber, pal.

Yeah, he's such a crappy climber he went back to McKinley and successfully climed it after he lost his hands.

Or the way he climbed Mt. Elbrus in Europe, Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, and Mt. Aconcagua in South America? What utter crap.

Lost his hands pursuing a dream? I thought he lost his hands climbing up a big rock. I mean, I think it's great that a disabled person can do extraordinary things, but you'd think that losing limbs would teach you that you might want to look for your jollies somewhere else. But, to each his own.

I've done some reading about mountain-climbing. Hell, I don't even rock climb. But I'm impressed by the goal-oriented personality that it takes to be one of these guys. Most of them really aren't the type to be stopped by a little thing like, um, losing their hands.

Jon Krakauer covered this a little bit in Into Thin Air, and a bit more in Into the Wild, where he talks about the time he almost killed himself climbing a mountain in Alaska. There's a fine line, sometimes, between sure of yourself, and cocky.

Actually Krakauer's first book, Eiger Dreams, covers a whole slew of brushes with death he and other climbers faced on popular peaks and rock faces.
