Marriage is for WIMPS AND SISSIES!

"The sissy institution of marriage must not be perverted by sinners who are capable of abstaining! The sacred union of church and state must prohibit the immoral union of men and women capable of the discipline of sexual abstinence." This message, among others, was placed in the Oregon voters' guide by the Special Righteousness Committee. (A little more explanation here.)

Does that guy realize that people will take it seriously, and not as the satire he intends? And is that an official government thing--the Oregon Voters Pamphlet? They don't even check on who gets put into it?

amberglow, check the URL. It's official, and I would imagine that anyone who follows proper procedure for submitting their argument must be included.

Just about anything can be put into the voter's pamphlet here in Oregon as long as you put up $500 for each statement. This guy has four of these arguments in there. Don't get me wrong, I think they're hilarious, but $2000 for satire seems a bit much to me.
