And they're like, it's better than yours. The automotive arms race continues -- what's bigger than a Hummer or Ford F350? The Navistar CXT. Or is this all about hauling power for people who don't just want to buy a Kenworth?

If this thing was one pound heavier it'd require a commercial license due to it's GVWR of 13 tons. I was positive that after investigating that this thing was going to require a commercial license but it doesn't. I guess on the bright side there's only going to be 50 of these built per year. Where the Hell can you go with one? Anywhere you want doesn't really apply because I think it's over the weight limit for many roads.

Trik - I'd prefer a hybrid offensive capability SUV : it will be smallish (for a true tank) with real tank treads but regenerative brakes and and auxiliary electric motor powered by solar panels.

It will, however, have an extremely high velocity cannon which fires depleted Uranium shells.

Just in case.

But I'm nonviolent, and I will hang a dreamcatcher from the rear view mirror - and every other Wednesday, I'll burn Sage to chase away evil spirits from the transmission.

I'm enough of a guy, and a Rocky Mountain states kind of guy, that a truck of a certain type has a lot of appeal to me. And this CXT is appealing in a serious-power-tools sort of a way. But not that much. And, anyway, I saw a site a few weeks ago all about conversions of big commercial trucks to gigantic pick-ups. Which is pretty cool. Those engines are rated for, like, a million miles or something.

But what I really want, is a Pinzgauer 712m 6x6. Screw these poseurs with their Hummers—I want something that actually does the job that the Hummer looks like it will do. Of course, an actual Humvee would be cool, too. But I'm serious about a Pinzgauer. The Swiss Army is selling these off as surplus, you can get one in pretty good shape for less than 15K.

EB - I bet it eats a lot of gas (otherwise a superb vehicle, I'm sure). The Swiss have nothing to prove to anyone.

I like the look of the Pinzgauer Bligh. It reminds me of the truck I would love to own, the Unimog

I'd rather have an EarthRoamer XV -- a monocoque-designed camper hydraulically attached to a Ford 450 pick-up, complete with solar panel regenerative power for hyper-efficient cabin heating/cooling, no messy propane to deal with, and perhaps the most ingeniously designed interior space I've ever seen. The ultimate in off-road living.

I spit on your wuss-tastic Pinzgauers, Unimogs, and EarthRoamers.

Me, I got a fuckin' LandMaster, complete with rocket god-damn launchers.

I think I'm gonna trade up to The Plow Mark 2 from Carmageddon 2.

Thanks, Xenophobe, I'd just about put Carmageddon games out of my mind. I can't believe how bad the 3rd one was.

Vice City has had to serve it's purpose since.

But, this is the 3rd time this vehicle has been posted here. Tribute to it's character?

There are mod-packs and total conversions for C2 if you look around. If you want to keep hearing that sweet, sweet splud as you smack into four cows.

Busithoth, Vice City's getting trumped in a mere two more days by San Andreas' release! I've got mine on pre-order and am very looking forward to pimping 'ho's and causing new mayhem!

There are some cool new aspects to the new game too. More interaction, less structure but more storylines to pursue. I cannot wait!

I can't wait to get a president who'll create some disincentives to buying ridiculously oversized trucks like the CXT and the others. There's no need save the ego need and that's just pathetic. I restrain myself from flipping off every asswipe I see in a Hummer.
