dvdloc8, the "Internet DVD Database", a cool little work-in-progress thing I found via doom9.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't understand. I punched in Bring me the Head of Alfredo Garcia and the search results included Stand By Me, Austin Powers, and many other unrelated titles.

It it's supposed to tell me where I can find dvds (region/country/store-wise), I look forward to it working but that looks to be a long way off.

I would really like to see it compare different releases of DVDs - I recently had the unpleasant experience of buying a Region 1 release of a British miniseries, only to find out that they had omitted 1 of the 4 hours for no reason, except that it had been cut from U.S. television to put in adverts. Fortunately, I was able to return it, but I would have liked to have known before.

One of my favorite movies, Orlando, is also available now in a special edition from Region 2, with interesting extras, but only the movie is available in Region 1.
