I"m trying to decide whether this guy has a stupid alibi, or if he's just stupid. "You're a random obscene phone caller? And you want me to violate several state and federal laws just because you claim to be an officer? Sure!" posted by dhartung at 6:56 AM on October 12, 2000
"Winsor said he thought he was cooperating with a police investigation of stolen money when he strip searched Stacy Carruthers, 19, and Sara Quick, 18, in June 1999 at the restaurant"
Sure he did . . . posted by aladfar at 7:00 AM on October 12, 2000
"Sara Quick" is an action-movie/porno name if ever I heard one. posted by highindustrial at 7:44 AM on October 12, 2000
No offense to anyone working or who has worked at McDonald's, but they don't exactly hire the brightest eggs out of the bunch. =P posted by PWA_BadBoy at 7:56 AM on October 12, 2000
The teens testified that they also thought the man giving directions to Winsor over the phone was a detective.
The young women claimed Winsor touched them inappropriately while they were undressed.
I don't think the whole point of the story is that there was a supposed cop on the other end. Both the teens mentioned could easily be referred to as "women" since they're 18 and 19. They also thought it was a cop on the other end, and complied with the strip search. I think the biggest issue at hand is the inappropriate touching that may have occured.
And, really, touching a naked employee is just plain stupid. posted by cCranium at 8:07 AM on October 12, 2000

HAVING naked employees in plain stupid. Unless you own a strip club I guess. posted by ethmar at 8:42 AM on October 12, 2000
if that is widespread it would explain slow service on some occasions...might even lead to mistakes like ultra-hot pickles etc...
Life is its own little IQ test. i'd say the managers AND the girls have their scores in...
