- OK, maybe there's some agreement not to post this here, but I wasn't part of the development, and it's already got some good links (especially the evolution of writing one). So here's Viewropa - a community site started by members of MetaFilter who are attempting an experiment in multi-lingual, collaborative and Euro-focussed blogging. All are welcome here, no matter where you're from [...] (beware the impossible Portuguese kill-the-snowman game) (and I get the impression a non-English link would be more than welcome).

Thanks for the link andrew. Here's the About page: give it a once-over and join up if it seems to be your thing. We are hoping to make the site distinctive, not just in having a particular outlook (Euro focussed), but the experiment with a multi-lingual blog amd collaborative development and moderation. If you have an ability to post in european languages other than english - all the better! Props to mefi's own dodgygeezer and taz for tech work and design - we are operational mainly because of their hard work and superb implementation of a simple original idea.

Why no posting on stuff from the United States? Because it's a blog about Europe - European people, European issues. You can post there if you are from the US but you can't post there about the US (unless you make it pretty clear what the relevance to Europe is...).

and...there's Mefi, Mofi, Plastic, SlashDot, every other blog in the known blogosphere where posts on [China, Africa, Asia, Australia, Antatctica and the US] are on topic. All humans are welcome at Viewropa, as are their views and (almost all) their lingos...where relevant. It's a niche market, baby.
