Well, I thought this was going to be about affordable housing, or housing to go on wilderness lots, while building a more permanent hut. Dang. posted by Oyéah at 5:26 PM on November 19, 2004
Actually ... a friend of mine has one of those on a shelf in his kitchen, I'd been wondering where to get one for myself. Will anyone else admit to coveting one, or even buying one?
Hell, if I can spend $5 for the privilege of making comments like this on a web site, I should be able to afford $6.99 for a tiny plastic hut with a "Milk Maiden." posted by marxchivist at 5:28 PM on November 19, 2004
Yes, but does it come with the bunny? posted by Plinko at 5:31 PM on November 19, 2004
I personally was hoping for a cursing salesman, reeking of desperation, a la Winnebago Man.

Oh, splendid! I forgot all about Winnebago man--I can't stop giggling.
While, sitting around one afternoon dreaming of home ownership I thought up the idea of tiny plastic huts. If I can sell 10,000 huts, then I will have enough for a down payment on a house.
It's like someone combined that goddamn "Save Karyn" website with what they hope will be the next pet rock. For some reason I don't loathe this hut person like I did Karyn... posted by crank at 6:20 PM on November 19, 2004
i totally had one of those as a kid, and it does come with huge bunny rabbits. the people, i've never seen before. (i was also expecting affordable housing, but was glad to see this, since i haven't thought about it in years). posted by whatzit at 6:38 PM on November 19, 2004
I was curious to find out how he/she came to posess 10,000 little plastic huts but alas, no FAQ. posted by m@ at 6:57 PM on November 19, 2004
You can buy them at dollar stores for a lot less than 7 bucks. I bought one last year as a stocking gift for my wife (as part of my ongoing attempt to weird her out).
They're actually kind of neat. Everything fits into the little box, like a russian doll. posted by selfnoise at 6:57 PM on November 19, 2004

marxchivist: Hell, yes I will admit to coveting one -- and I am almost certain to purchase at least a couple of them very soon. How delightfully whimsical! When I receive mine, I will be sure to post some pix for you all to enjoy...you can then live vicariously through my huts & bunnies & maiden & rabbits & such! posted by davidmsc at 7:38 PM on November 19, 2004

I bought one about three years ago as part of a silly Christmas gift basket which included food AND Archie McPhee-type stuff. The recipient couple were oddly pleased. posted by Secret Life of Gravy at 7:51 AM on November 20, 2004
I yearn for a yellow yurt.
In it I'll wear no shirt.

I think my kids might like some huts. Oh boy. Cottage industry, a crazy kid with some huts and a dream. I'm all over this.

I saw these huts at the store attached to the restaurant I used to work at, and had to buy one for my kitchen. God, I'm weak, but when I noticed that some of the box artwork was the same as some of the artwork from the old Happy Mutant Handbook, by the Boing Boing people, I had to bust out the employee credit. posted by 235w103 at 5:08 PM on November 20, 2004
