I'm just a tad over seeing parodies of Picasso's work. I'm certain many more are to come; though wouldn't an original work concerning the Artest riot be much more humorous? All well and good, I get it, but the whole thing just seems done to death. Maybe expecting a photorealistic oil painting of Artest and Wallace descending from the heaven's with a legion of NBA stars to lay waste upon the poor soul's of earth for one mortal's indiscretion is hoping for a bit too much. But I think that would be funnier. Still, okay.

Those cagey textbook manufactures, they're tricky alright. I'd suggest that if they have Oscars for high school history text writers, who ever did yours should have won that year.

Yeah, this just ... isn't that clever, and the "Guernica" thing has been overdone. However, it HAS been done brilliantly, and I'm thinking of something I can't find online: Bill Griffith's Zippy-the-Pinheadified take on the painting, which uses icons from 1950s domestic cartoons. (It's on p.210 of "From A to Zippy.") If you know what I'm talking about, can you find this somewheres on the internets?

<face-palm />...shaking my head, sadly.... I'll tell you what I'm "over" -- I'm over the outrage at that Pistons-Pacers brawl. I was over it before I heard of it, and I'm twice as over it now. Anyway, I think this is pretty goshdarn clever, and a cool piece of photoshopping, to boot. And I have to wonder if Picasso wouldn't think it was pretty funny, too. (Though maybe not -- you never know...)

At first quick glance I thought PissOnYourParade was PissOnYourPrado -- funny that. (Yes, I know that the Guernica is not at the Prado but the nearby Reina Sofía.)
