That Dj format one is an older one's he's done. There's one with Abdominal on the same page called "Vicious Battle Raps" that is a single take with all the action speeding up and down that's all done in camera. He puts out a mix tape every Christmas (+-a few months) that is quite good. I like a video director who knows when to use some slick CG and when not to (if course budgets also have something to do with that too).

I had the same experience as zelphi. The problem I have with it is that it's not 3 hours long. I'm a huge rap/hip-hop fan, but too frequently for me there is a huge gap between the form (the talent, flow, beats etc) and the content (boasting about the money and/or bitches and/or liquor and/or murder etc). It's not that I'm offended; there's just a sameness to it. This kind of track bridges that gap with humor and aplomb.

This was on MeFi about a year or two ago but not as an FPP. I emailed a bit with Ruben after seeing it and he seemed pretty cool. Indeed, it's a fun video. I MoFi'd this video (not Ruben) a week or two ago, which also has someone in a costume and which I can't stop watching, though I can't explain why as it's not nearly as good as Ruben's stuff.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but,why is it that people always complain if it's a RealPlayer or WMV file, but people never complain about Quicktime? I hate Quicktime links - they rarely, if ever, work for me, and even if they work, they're always a little tiny window that look really crappy. Am I the only one who feels this way?

greasepig, for the most part, it's much more trouble to play Real files on machines that don't have the Real software. In fact, it's hard enough to play them -with- the software. At least with quicktime, the genuine software is free, easy to find, download, and install), not to mention codecs are available for other systems that don't have native software written for them yet. What player are you using, though?

Quicktime, in my experience, is superior in every facet (streaming, consistency, platform-compatability) except for the fact that you can't make that buggering little screen any bigger. Does anyone know how to make this change? And please, please, please never link to a RealMedia file. I refuse to install that junk on my machine.

I love music videos, but not Ashlee Simpson or shows about putting DVD players in 1989 Hyundais. I don't even have cable, anyway, so this is awesome. Great music, great videos. Thanks so much. I could almost swear that the DJ Format song (We Know Something) is actually a Jurassic 5 song. Or is DJ Format in Jurassic 5? I feel my hipster cred slipping away.

Does anyone know how to make this change? In QuickTime preferences, enable the cache. Once you do this, you'll have an additional option on the tiny menu at the bottom of the movie (looks like a down arrow) -- Save As Source. Save it to your hard drive, then play it in the regular player. Embedded movies in web pages TEH SUCK0RS. For instance, moonbird's embedded movie clip plays fine, but the one linked to in the post doesn't. Oh, and XP SP2 also TEH 5UCKS. I'm going back to Win2k.

After seeing that video for the first time (a year or two ago, you N00BZ!!!!!!111) I had this strange desire to learn how to breakdance. I figure I'm athletic and flexible enough to pull it off with practice, but there's really no space in my house big enough to try and learn it. I've always wanted to just start pin-wheeling on the dance floor at some club. The cool factor would make up for the fact I'd be then covered in dirt, sweet, and booze. Here's the breakdown: The beats were laid down by dj Format, the rhymes dropped by Jurassic 5. In most of the other dj Format vidoes on the site, rhymin' skillz are exhibited by one 'Abdominal", a fine MC in his own right. Check out "Vicious Battle Raps" or "The Hit Song". Yes, knowing this does make me cooler than you.
