Virtual Pig Dissection.
Requires Shockwave. Not for the faint of heart.

Wow. This is really quite remarkable. One of the best uses of Shockwave I've ever seen, using animation as an aid to understanding what you're looking at in the photos. Very well done.

Proof enough that Flash and its ilk aren't evil, just usually misused.

While it is certainly useful as an educational site, it bring back some rather unpleasant memories of high school.

In biology class, my lab partner tried an unsanctioned experiment: He took an ordinary plastic straw, inserted it into the fetal pigs trachea, and blew.

Squealing, dead, baby pig . . .

It was funny at the time, but it makes me a bit nauseas to think about it now.

All in all, I would have much preferred to follow along with some unpleasant pictures than to have actually ripped the thing apart with a blunt scapel.
