Is this you? Here's something for all of us who are desperately waiting for the next issue of Found, but are still a little bit creeped out by the pervy version.

I can't check out the "pervy" version because I'm at work at the moment, but the original Found makes me sad. I don't know why. It's almost as if the photos represent lost people. Lost souls. Lost memories. Though I do enjoy looking the way people are dressed, like the kid in the bowtie.

I just realized I have in my possession a great entry to send to Found... A poster for a child's lost pet: "Lost Rabbit Brown" the headline reads, with an illustration in color markers. Wonderfully poignant. Very similar to the Hopkin saga. And looking at the Is this you? site reminds me of the whimsical mystery in Amelie...

Ah i love this kind of thing -- wasn't there a site posted here not too long ago where a fella was posting a picture a day from somebodys found camera? There's some great found stuff at Ubu, as well.

A poster for a child's lost pet: "Lost Rabbit Brown" Incidentally, "Rabbit" Brown was the name of a blues/folk songster in New Orleans in the 1920s. My favorite songs of his are "James Alley Blues" (found on Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music on Smithsonian-Folkways) and "The Mystery of the Dunbar's Child".

I do wish the I Found Some of Your Life site that scrim reminded us of had kept going -- I was anxious to see how that one ended. I thought the /. reaction was particularly ... how do you say? juvenile and retarded? Found art is certainly one of those things I love about the Internets. The chance for serendipity, provided folks don't get up in arms, is pretty awesome. Flickr's been a great source for found stuff. Including, the lost and found tags, which is quite nice.
