You Capitalist Pig-Dogs disgust me.

So, it's an electrical blinking light that happens to hook up to my computer? I don't really see the geek factor.

Now, if i could program the snowman to breakdance, or take over the world...

I wish I could find a picture of that Godzilla router I saw once. Now that's an awesome geek gift.

(Oh, and Steve? Satire doesn't become you.)

That last link has it from the man himself.

And Faint of Butt, did you mean this?

I've got to say that I'm getting kind of tired of these 'hey guyz here's some more stupid shit to buy!' links.

That's exactly it, anarcation. Thanks. I love that thing!

(Note to self: Design more things shaped like tiny dinosaurs. Or big dinosaurs.)

The bright shiny wasn't that impressive, but I had never heard of buynothingchristmas.org. That rocks.

I'm lost in the confusion of the point?

I just love people who feel that they're somehow wiser as a result of how long they've been posting somewhere. As this whole internet thing is so new to so many of us, how long should we wait before posting? Oops.

buynothingchristmas.org - brilliant idea. 'Love it, and agree with it for the most part.

Though I enjoy splurging on the family and friends at the holidays, I've often felt since a child (and I'm an old fart), that something's "wrong" with the way we treat the holidays in commercialism (fuck, I sound like a Peanuts cartoon, please forgive).

Mind you, I do owe Pretty-Generic a brew or two, it's on its way mate!

Oh, good grief, S@L. I know I only managed to land an account last month, but I've been reading MeFi for over three years. I know how things work around here, and I know how you operate, you contrarian attention whore. As a matter of fact, one of the things I most looked forward to once becoming a member was the ability to tell you off to your face. Thanks to those who are willing to back me up, and thanks to the always-reliable quonsar for a good laugh at your expense. (And jpolous, thanks for nothing.)

That's it; I'm done feeding the troll (at least in this thread). My address is in my profile, so feel free to contact me directly if you've got anything worthwhile to say.

Big Clive has had instructions on Things to make and do for quite some time...including Make a USB toitle and LED "charm" lights (acrylic toys, resistors, LEDs, USB cables, resin and heatshrink come together to form some fun times and cool toys).

Of course, do these experiments at YOUR OWN RISK!

Apparently you don't. I have no love for Steve at Linwood, but you're way out of line. You don't start throwing personal attacks around just because you don't like his past work.

Back on topic, there's a big campaign to send phone cards to hospitalized vets

jpoulos, you're right. I was out of line, and worse yet, off-topic. This was neither the time nor the place. I apologize for my previous posts, and I apologize most of all to Doohickie for befouling this thread. I also apologize for misspelling your name above, jpoulos. I'm going to go back off now. Maybe buy some blinky LEDs or something.

Take the flames that don't relate to the topic to the gray, please. Thank you, gren & amberglow, for additional ideas for decommercializing Christmas (which was the real point here). As for those of you who have flames related to the topic, let me issue a universal "Piss off!" and be done with it.

This is 'to my face' ? Glad to see that I'm helping Matt pay for the server, by driving membership.
