Perhaps AfroNinja Vs. Laserhead will make this post worth it:

RAIN OF TERROR

Sometimes double posts can be sort of nostalgic, like tasting madeleines or something, Ah, June 24th....you seem so far away.

Unfortunately the only memory likely to come up is a cubicle and the crappy white noise machine they used to have in my old office. I think I may actuallty _listen_ to hatebeak this time. To Scrim's credit I did a search for hatebeak on remembering this post and initially nothing came up...

It reminded me to search for icebike and I found that I shouldn't post it.

This sort of metal jumped the shark a loooooooong time ago (in my opinion, of course), so why not put a parrot in as lead vocals?

And those guys in the pic above in cmonkey's post? The kids we made fun of, at the Rockaway Mall, NJ, circa 1984.

I think the second dude from the right might have played guitar for Twisted Sister tho!

cmonkey: stop! please stop! I'm terrorized. In fact, I may have to bring a lawsuit against you...I'm definitely feeling as though my skin is falling off, my eyes are bleeding, I've lost my balance, and my toes are no longer able to play the violin.

Woah, is that guy on the right wearing a Coil T-shirt?

Why does the title say "out of denton"? Is that supposed to be Denton, Texas?

I'm in Denton, and I'm confused.

But that guy eating a large hamburger is pretty funny.

Wait, they're from Denton? You mean, in Texas?

You mean, I was just there in November and did not get to burn in the agony that is HATEBEAK???

*heartbroken*

Uh, PS, when did this turn into a Fark Photoshop Thread??

It just dawned on me that the Reptilian Records in question is the one I pass by on an almost weekly basis. Next time I'm in Fells Point I'll try to stop by and see if I can pick up some avian death metal of my own.

(And the helmet-burger-dude is awesome.)

the whole denton thing, as dmd so awesomely points out, is a reference to the mountain goats, an awesome indie band/guy.

here is some basic info.

I feel it's safe to derail this thread at this point (understatement of the year), so I'd like to point out that the Mountain Goat's bio is the best I've read in a while. (Um, not that I read band bio's that often, but, you know: just sayin'.)

That is all.

And I thought I was the only one who loves The Mountain Goats.
I think all Mountain Goats fans (and I'm one myself) feel that way.

Re: AfroNinja Vs. Laserhead

Please forgive my ignorance of the wonderfulness that is AN vs. LH, but I've never seen it before, and once I dried the tea out of my keyboard, I noticed that minus the Lhead, it appears as if he was so screwed up from missing his flip, that when he started up with the nunchaku again, he spontaneously fell... is this correct?
posted by exlotuseater at 10:23 PM on December 17, 2004

You are correct, sir.
