I think Dave! meant fast-rendering (in Netscape 4) as opposed to fast-generating. Dave! had some kind of rant a week or so ago about how awful NS4 was, and how he gave up on it in his redesign. Zoooooooooooooooooooooommmmm!

Just to set it straight: Fast.weblogs.com is my creation. The regular version (as well as Scripting News) freezes my computer for more than half a minute, because I use Netscape on a 166MHz Mac. I informed Dave about this issue and he told me to create my own weblogs home page. Since weblogs.com is an important site for me I invested two hours to get a fast rendering version with all the feature I need.

This really isn't intended as a smartass question, Kris: Why didn't you just use IE instead?

Every report I read says that IE on the Mac is vastly superior to Navigator. Why not just use the best program available? Why deliberately cripple yourself?

Well, I thank you then Arf -- it may be on the same slow server, but it is a lot faster in displaying the updates (which is all I use weblogs.com for ...)

Yep, this is the same server as the regular site and it is based on the same macros. It is getting slower around the full hour when it grabs the page of the registered weblogs. I added an about page earlier tonight.

Why do I still use Netscape? Hmm, call me old fashioned. I still prefer vinyl over CDs. I like automatic watches and I think combo organs are cooler than digital synthesizer.
