Let's get Kraken!

Like most people who love mythical creatures (cryptozoology), I also collect stamps (philately). At last, someone has combined these twin fetishes in one easily displayed fashion. My favorites include the Loch Ness Monster and his ancient cousin the Kraken, especially these two which feature a guest appearance by Mickey Mouse.

Sadly, doohickie, Divine_Wino & faint of butt (great user name, btw, f.o.b.), I was 100% lying for comic effect*; not only is there no known correlation between cryptozoology & philately, but neither one of them happens to be an interest of mine. Although I have been known to enjoy the occasional Kraken... *while the joke itself may not have been funny, the fact that two (possibly three) users believed it was true certainly brightened my day. I'm almost reluctant to post this correction.

fwiw, cryptozoology isn't the study of mythical animals per se, it's more about the study of creatures not yet catalogued scientifically. tracking down cryptids has actually brought rumored animals to scientific attention and subsequent classification. yes, you'll see things like loch ness and yeti bandied about, but several species per year are identified by cryptozoologists. see this.
