I also enjoyed yesterday's New York Times article about the Rogue Taxidermists, but I prefer artisty to creepiness. Try Carlee Fernandez's work.

Nice. I always liked mounted/preserved animals, but, not being a hunter, I've never come across the chance to get any. Wish I had a spare $450 for a winged cat. It's probably for the best: the last thing I need is more stuff I have to hide on the rare occasion that there's going to be a girl in my apartment. She should work with more reptiles: the biology department I work in has quite a few pickled reptiles, and the darkly colored ones seem to hold their colors and patterns rather well. A fat 5 to 6 foot long cottonmouth with dark stripes, coiled tightly into a large jar with it is pretty impressive.
