MC Chris is the pseudonym of Chris Ward, comedian, writer, and aspiring rap star. Most popular as the voice of Hesh on Sealab 2021, his site is a great little archive of silly (but good) songs, and improv comedy bits- some from his UCB Theater days with now-Daily Show reporter Ed Helms.

I'm seeing him in Richmond (VA) on the 1st--any other MeFites attending?

Good Q&A here.

I was there the first time he was on stage at UCB. Such a shy little man. And so hilarious.

Ch-ch-check him out.

Bobba Fett rap is great, too.

He has done lots of other voices for a bunch of other Adult Swim characters, including the great MC Pee Pants (and all his reincarnations.

Slightly off topic, but did you know that the voice of Stormy on Sealab 2021 is Ellis Henican, the columnist for Newsday ? He is also a pundit on FOX News some times. It is the strangest thing to see this guy talking about politics in the "voice of Stormy."

I think Hesh is 90% of the funny on sealab.

Most of his dialog from "green fever" is friggin awesome!

Debbie: How often do I get to turn 30?
Quinn: According to your drivers license, I'd say 5.
Hesh: OH DAMN, I know my man didn't jus crawl all up on shawty's grill n put down a flag dat say "BOP, FAH, BIZZIATCH"

and

"where'd you get those pipes!!"

(I was really trying to find the audio samples for y'all but no luck - too bad because it's the delivery that makes it awesome - but you knew it would be, right?

Way back when Adult Swim was still young MC Chris had this little DIY page up that documented his trials and errors in making a career out of his talent. I'm sad that his current website doesn't seem to have that becuase it was a pretty down to earth acount of him finding his way to Williams St. He sounds like a great guy who has paid his dues... Cartoon Network and Williams St. are definitely better for having him around.

"Yo, Debbie, you can't hold MC Chris down."

I don't know why, but I've been listening to quite a bit of Nerdcore Hip-Hop these days. MC Frontalot is another I enjoy quite a bit.

I've met him a few times and it was very strange. The first time we were introduced when like this:

Me:"Hi, i'm Sean."

Him:"No! Hesh! With an 'E'!"

Me:"..."

But we were both under the influence so to speak, so it was cool.

If you want nerdy hip-hop, you can't beat Juiceboxxx, who unfortunately doesn't have any MP3s up on his site.

Even though the MC Pee Pants episodes are pretty bad, you still have to realize: the worst ATHF episode is still better than nothing.

I KNEW it! I saw this guy on some clip of pundit asshats talking about how we totally don't need Canada at all, and I watched it about twenty times to hear that guy's voice.
"I'm regular Stormy!"

One of the wierdest things I have ever seen:
A roomful of people at a frat in northern Michigan dancing to MC Chris.

I love nerdcore, I just never thought I'd see anyone, let alone multiple people, at a frat party, dancing to it. I heard a few songs, but regrettably not Tussin.
