This certainly is interesting. I'd be interested to see the algorithm used, and if I had time -- something that is presently in short supply for me, sadly -- I'd like to see if I could modify it to learn what pictures are better through the use of the voting system.

Beautiful. This one might be my favorite, but it's hard to choose. Thanks, moonbird.

I'm ambivalent: My reactions were simultaneously 'Ugh!', and 'Cool!'. Ugh, because the art is really bad - it's of a standard usually found hanging in a doctor's waiting-room. Cool, because, like ChrisR, I admire the ingenuity of the algorithm. I guess I like the artist better than the art. A good post indeed.

Is it just me, or do these all look like screenshots from Winamp AVS presets?

If we put a bunch of computers together in a room and ran the program for a while, eventually "The Birth of Venus" would appear. I'm sure of it.

Interesting. Here's my fave.

Wouldn't it would be fun to use a program like this to see what kind of art our user names would generate?

This would really rock if the web users' feedback somehow made a difference to the generation of the formulae.
