The GOP people think that the Star Tribune (the Red Star) is a liberal rag and have complete disdain for it, but financially it makes no sense whatsoever to make a stand against the largest media outlet in the state over such a small issue. Secondly, it makes even less sense for a CEO of a major company to shape policy decisions that affects a thousand employees over a personal grudge as well.

What's ironic is that Cooper effectively hoisted his own petard: Coleman suggested that people stop banking with TCF because of perceived radical republican associations. Cooper's reaction has gone a long way in reinforcing that perception. Oh well. I guess somebody has to buy ads in the Pioneer Press.

All the characters in this play make me sick. Coleman has it in for the blog world in general, not just the right-wing-mouthpiece-repeater blogs. Coleman has written articles on blogging in the past, dismissing it out of hand. He displays the arrogance and fear of most journalists who see their profession slowly being reduced to a non-paying hobby.

TCF is a horseshit bank that preys on low to moderate income people - with their high overdraft fees etc. cooper is scumbag - powerline sucks - minnesota, minnetonka, even edina went for kerry - tcf and the powerline clownies should move to houston to be among their white sheet and cone hat clad brothers.

That's somewhat impressive for Edina and Minnetonka for that matter. There's an idea that they're all "cake-eaters" here in the city. But then, we tend to think that of any suburb regardless of the actual reality of the matter.

The funny thing is - regardless of the rest of Nick Coleman's article, he points out that Scott Johnson is blogging on the TCF clock. Of course he's salaried so it doesn't make all that much difference, but if you look at the times of his posts in October -- he posts as much as 3 or 4 times a day in mid-morning and afternoon. So TCF pulled their advertising to punish the Strib for publishing... the truth. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Norwegianity is proposing a TCF boycott. Not a bad idea if you don't want your money supporting extreme right-wing ideaology.
