I always wanted to go on one of those Geek Cruises - a hardcore programming one, not Mac or Photoshop. I figure as a basically-kinda-cute, if plump and aging, coder grrl, I would be in a statistical minority and probably kinda popular with the straight males onboard. And I'd maybe learn something about software development too.

"convincing your spouse". I know someone who went on a Geek Cruise for her honeymoon ... she's an IT marketing executive and he's a Linux developer so no problem there.

I have a friend who went on the geekcruise, he IM:ed me from it that he had just met Larry Wall and wanted to show him my (Perl code) tattoo "send me a .jpg now". well I thought it was fun.. it's like, I met Larry Wall, by proxy.
