This year has been declared the World Year of Physics. Why 2005? To celebrate 100 years since Einstein published three papers that revolutionized physics. In the U.K. and Ireland it is being called Einstein Year, but there are many events planned around the globe.

Relativity is a theory, not a fact, regarding electromagnetic waves not conforming to the Newtonian laws for motion. The material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered.

I'm not sure what the point of that was. I think anyone here knows that already. It is a theory, albeit an elegant one that has been well-supported by a number of experiments. However, perhaps somewhere in the world today there is a physicist who is even now finishing up a new theory that will alter the landscape of physics once again.

Are you suggesting that Einstein's theories are somehow less valuable because they are theories and not fact? I doubt anyone would dispute the man's genius, or the enormous impact he has had on modern science. He deserves all the praise he gets.

Relativity is a theory, not a fact, regarding electromagnetic waves not conforming to the Newtonian laws for motion.

Ehhhh....since Newton's "laws" are accurate only under very limited conditions, I'm a-gonna have to assume you's just being sarcastic....cf fatllama above.
