Flipside No. 1. Before MTV and Vans got ahold of it, this is what punk rock looked like: Tiny, grimy, Xeroxed and rad. Tip o' the hat to the Boingstaz and our own Mr. Bali Hai
Wow, that's pretty cool! Whatever happened to Flipside, anyway (at least the glossy-covered version I'm most familar with)?

May, they stopped publishing around the year 2000 when Al decided to retire. A lot of the staffers reformed and started another magazine called Razorcake.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I suspected as much once I saw your bit about Al retiring, but I didn't know if other staffers tried to keep it going (sort of like what happened with MRR after Tim Yo died).

Thanks arto! It's neat to read about this stuff. I didn't know about any of this, even though I was into alternative music and grew up just nearby in Alhambra. Hello Mr. Bali Hai, from the good old SGV!

Now can somebody out there on the ol' Lazyweb do this with Ben Is Dead? That would rule.
