The Goleta Air & Space Museum/ Goleta Natural History Museum While looking for hot spring photos, I found this virtual museum. It is loaded with amazing shots of warbirds in flight and the latest in space travel On the other hand some very well done nature photography. Including desert panoramas This is all the work of one man.

goleta is the good land, unfortunately im finding a hard time sharing your enthusiasm of what appears to be a pretty run-of the-mill enthusiast's web site. am i missing something?

many of these photos were taken in the wilds of Inyo County where the jets fly very low,and fast. Not only does he capture the image(difficult to do.try it some time.)he can identify the air craft and decypher the meaning of the various markings The web site is huge and packed with historical aircraft photographed in natural settings.If you feel you are missing something click on the image to get a higher resolution.

This site, though not the best designed, is obviously a labor of love and is exhaustively complete in what it documents. I particularly like the NB-52B walkaround and documentation of its many modifications and markings made through the years. The plane was recently retired by NASA after carrying research planes for both them and the Air Force for almost 50 years. The exact same plane is in this 1969 photo of a test pilot looking up at the giant bird that lofted him into the sky. I think it epitomizes the experimental spirit of that time in aerospace.

I used to live in Goleta. I am not maniac. I was, however, a Santa Barbarian. The panaoramic photos up on East Camino Cielo definitely evoke strong memories of my time in Paradise. *sniff*

Sorry for the lack of "quotes"my bad. thanks zsazsa, I really enjoy the panoramas of the east face of the Inyo mnts. at sunrise myself, as they are rarely seen. But B52s are cool old airplanes. And thank you possum cowboy,but it is not a self link.
