the little details were great (i particularly liked the 40% banana slide), but it seems like an inside job, i.e. something funny to show the company at the Shoebox department holiday party (which is the only reason something like this would get made), so so-so. i was hoping for a disgruntled writer. the funny was lost somewhere in the middle. personally, i don't use prewritten greeting cards for birthdays, valentine's day, anniversary, etc, but i admit i do use them for baby showers, weddings, etc, so i can't throw any stones myself. it is a rather weird concept: when you care enough to send the very best of someone else's sentiments.

Ah, greeting cards. Anyone else sell them for prizes from that company that advertised in the comic books? I did, and I sold enough to get an inflatable boat. But I lost one of the oars so most of the time I just spun around in the surf like a doofus.

I think this animation works on so many levels for practically any creative field. Though I guess the audience demo is purely creatives, as it keeps slamming business. Wait, did I say.. demo!?! Help! I've been CORRUPTED! AHHHhh! *sellout*

Heh, nice link. I've got a friend in town who's struggling to make a living creating handmade greeting cards of the anti-Hallmark variety, though not exactly succeeding. I should forward her the link to invigorate her hatred of corporate/manufactured sentimentality. What would terrible-poet-turned-terrible-greeting-card writer Maya Angelou say?

Ynoxas, i think not... look again, the title cars says "should you see fit to punish anyone for this short, my name is brian gordon." the guy who made it is called chris harding. gordon's probably the division head and/or the person for whose birthday party this short was made.
