Baby name popularity is one of those things that some people seem to spend an inordinate amount of time charting (link is to Java applet for US-sourced babies). It's the trainspotting of the parent world. Similar data is available from a variety of nationalities and localities.

NullPointerException. That's an unusual name for a baby.

Interesting that my name (Christopher) has been the second most popular baby name for the past 3 decades. I never thought much of my name, and really didn't know too many other kids named Chris.

splatta: my class in high school (graduated 1987) had four chris's in it, out of 120. Beaten out by "Andrew"s.

Apparently, names beginning with 'A' or 'C' are by far the most popular in the US.

It's interesting that the name we chose for our daughter (Kira) apparently only became even vaguely popular in 1960. Her second name (Vashti) isn't even on that map anywhere.

On preview: dagnabbit, search turned up nothing.

Awaiting deletion of my first FPP in 3 2 1 ...
