Bulls--t! Or, how philosophy catches up with blogging: "One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much [bull]. Everyone knows this. Each of us contributes his share. But we tend to take the situation for granted. Most people are rather confident of their ability to recognize [bull] and to avoid being taken in by it. So the phenomenon has not aroused much deliberate concern, nor attracted much sustained inquiry."

How will liberals ever succeed in corrupting the morals of this nation when their leader -- The Pinko New York Times -- won't even print a simple profanity?

Fortunately, there's no bullshit on Mefi.

327.ca, that may be the funniest thing I've ever read on MeFi, thanks!

There may be no bullshit but the squeegee marks are fresh.

i dont think that its a salient feature of our culture - but of human nature.
just because most (all?) people are emotionally based so we speak bullshit because we don't nessicarly care about the actual meaning of the words but rather to convey a feeling, which often makes specific things seem like bullshit. advertisments just take advantage of that human nature (to appreciate the feeling behind words rather than the words themselves) - like monarchys for thousands of years before.

like tolstoy said "people of limited intellegence are fond of talking about 'these days' imaging that they have discovered and appraised the pecularities of 'these days' and that human nature changes with the times"

but yeah - bullshit is everywhere, and i like to contribute.
