there have been small, fuel efficient helicopters since the late 70s, or so I've been told. There's just no good way to work the air traffic control. i'll try and find a link.

dhoyt, this is awesome! I love flying cars and have always wanted one (actually, I want a flying motorcycle but I've only seen drawings of those, but oh what a drawing!!!). A really cool post and a great site that I will be having a good time exploring alot more of! Thanks very much!
