Good lord; that is some disturbing plant matter.
Great post, though.

Freymann's vegetables are awesome, but how could you do a vegetable art post without including Arcimboldo? (Maybe because he strayed from the vegetables, sometimes using animals?) Thanks for the post.

Heh! Counting on folks like you, whatzit, to post links to other art like Arcimboldo's. You're right, though, he should've been in the main post. D'oh! Thanks.

Saxton Freymann is responsible for me going about my annual pumpkin carving in an entirely new way. He's got the coolest produce art around. Thank you, Saxton. And thank you, Shane, for introducing me to "mural" Greg Brown. That's some fun art.

Great post!

Ooh, great work. This is my favorite Fraymann picture.

I've never heard of Greg Brown. I love his picture of the bananas peeling one another with the perverted little cherry peering in on them.

Heh. I was scrolling down the page and got to the first two lines and knew it was yours, Shane, by the oh-so-helpful practice of putting unlinked letters in between linked ones to clue us in to multiple links for a given word or phrase. And by oh-so-helpful, I mean oh-so-very-helpful. You rock.

Also, the post is great, but that kinda goes without saying. With my plant-based diet comes an unhealthy fixation on plant-based imagery.

Sorry to be late to the party for this really fabulous post Shane - what great collection of nifty links, thank you! I don't have much to throw in the mix beyond these cute but silly veggie pix by Henry Rox.

I vote for more Shane posts!

Cool links, thanks. That Kei Kosa stuff is...interesting... Saxton Freeman has some amazing food sculpture, too. I must say, however, that although I can see the utility in separating the links by a letter its appearance hurts my brain; not that that's a reason to stop.
