The Imaginary World "began as an idea to create a fictional theme park. I would create models, drawings, souvenirs, etc to build an entirely fictional place. As the idea grew I created characters to inhabit the park and some of these characters took on lives of their own that went outside the boundaries of the park." found via Andy Partridge

These are rather enthralling, aren't they?

Thanks for the find, dodgygeezer!

Cool stuff. Nice to see that the life-size theme-park ambition of Mr. Toast, at least, was realized on that Discovery shoot.

And from the "Andy Partridge" link...

...and see where your dick leads you.

Good to hear him finally declare his obvious credo.

Very hip, and thanks for swerving me over to the XTC site too. Partridge and crew are just far too cool.

Yeah, exactly--I'm even more psyched for the XTC link than I am for the IW link. (Although I found the comics very whimsical and cool.)

For some reason this postal toast piece speaks to me.

I've been a regular visitor to Tick Tock Toys for several years and an avid XTC fan since the early 80's, so this was doubly nice post. Although I was a little shocked to find the other site Andy Partridge recommended was a porn launching pad site - and not a very subtle one at that!.

Does Mr. Toast seem vaguely nervous and perhaps a little queasy in this last image?

This is what he's dreaming of. Or maybe this.

Also, I couldn't resist: Toast points, Toast jam, and my masterpiece, ToastMaster (with Miracle Whip).

I think he fears Powdered Toast Man!

For those into XTC, I should probably also point out Ape records and Chalkhills - that's if you haven't found them already.
