Ouch! I've worked at Palmer Station for years now and it's one of the most spectacular places on Earth - sorry to see us get "mundane" and "crappy". There are better sites out there that explore the beauty and the history of Palmer. Of course the research being done here is just as fascinating as the surroundings.

I went down as part of a research team on the Nathaniel B. Palmer a couple of years ago. Imagine 15 first-timers all with digital cameras - at the end of a month and a half, we had over 15,000 photos sitting on the network.

Well, it seems she's made a return trip to the Big White Room. Actually Allie is headed back this week after a stop over in Christchurch, NZ, where she is to pick me up quality shoe polish. We owe her 6 months of wedgies, noogies and ice in the pants (she's claims this no longer has any effect). She is now the only girl I know who has a legitimate reason for having hairy legs and a mustache.
