So simple, even my mom could play!

If you liked the streamlined RPG play of Progress Quest, you'll love the simplified puzzle action of Tetris 1d.

That's pretty silly, which is cool.

Pathetic though, are the people trying to set high scores at it. Are people really that sad they'd sit there all day trying to set scores in this?

inthe80s: I doubt they sat there all day, but rather left it running, much like Progress Quest.

http://www.tetris1d.org/zigah/twinoo (linked from that page) is a lot of fun, too.

Progress Quest deserves to be a called a classic -- as a critique of gameplay, goal orientation, and linear progression in interactive gaming, it's something that the good folks at Grand Text Auto could write an essay or three about (which they probably already have). And it's a fun game to play, er, watch too.

I suspect Tetris 1d is a cleverly-designed sociological experiment designed to cull out those who are willing to torture their computer into producing high scores.

I played Progress Quest nearly nonstop for three months. It was awesome.

I have an old friend who would never play Tetris on my computer, but preferred to watch me play Tetris on my computer. I bet he'd love Tetris 1d.

Is this something I'll need a 1D accelerator to get the most out of?

Progress Quest is truly one of the best satires of modern gaming. The joke is still funny today when thinking of WoW or any of the new MMPOGs.

So, in Tetris 1d, getting 22800 points a minute (the most i could get in a minute) ,with the current high score of 483293400 points, it would take 14.7 days of hitting the down key to get first place.

I call shenanigans.

All joking aside, I'm quite enjoying my current adventure in ProgressQuest. Level 9 ... and counting.

It's exciting -- sometimes I get some really good stuff and am riveted to the screen to see how much I can sell it for.

Then I get to see what new armour I can buy ....

Excellent. Most excellent.

I think you mean it gets some really good stuff.

No, no, I mean "I". I'm playing, remember ... this is *MY* loot.
