Might have appeared on Fark, but it ain't a FarkFilter. I tried to retrace my steps as for how I found it, but wasn't able to. I think it was linked from a link on one of the blogs I read. Anyway, I thought it was well-done. Makes ol' atheist me laugh out loud, yet probably didn't offend the religionists. Win-win humour.

The "fifty pounds" bit with the scale display is awesome. Unlike a vast, vast, VAST majority of parody songs, this one actually flows lyrically and sounds as good as the original. Clearly Southpaw gots skillz of the "mad" variety.

I think that's pretty funny. Sexymofo: I don't think he is trying so much to promote Christianity because there are too many references in there that non-Christians would never get like "Thompson Chain with the big red letters." I think it is just a joke and that is it. Christians can do that, ya know. Landover Baptist is much more satirical, and my opinion, meaner.

Ooh. Is Saved really any good? Would it appeal to someone who thought Dogma was both hilariously wicked and exceptionally religionist at the same time? (I can see why some Christians thought it was anti-Christian, and why others thought it was pro-Christian. It's all in your sense of humour.) And, yah, I think he's actually promoting Christianity. Not sure what flavour, though: he mentions KJV, New Word, Catholics, and several other types.

five fresh fish: Saved was pretty funny, and all the actors were real engaging. It got a little preachy at the end (about The True Meaning Of Religion.) It was better than Dogma.

No, that's called goofy. Southpaw is distinctively left-handed. Maybe in skate/snowboarding In boxing, the standard stance (for a right-handed person) is left foot/fist forward. The right is the power hand. Southpaw is normally used by left-handers, so their left (power) hand is back, right hand/foot forward

not funny. also, I receive intel that the creators are genuine evangelicals from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio. I guess it's marginally interesting that Sir Mix's song has lost so much of its impact that it is deemed an acceptable vehicle by these folks. Once upon a time its bawdy pro-ass message was the sort of thing they wouldn't want to be associated with even tangentially.
