Mike's Classic Cartoon Themes A pretty heavy collection of cartoon theme songs from the 1950's-90's as mp3's. Includes all of the obvious classics along with more than a few fun obscurities new to me, for example, "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home."

Swampjazz! - I'm not criticizing your link here but, man, I couldn't not comment on the site's opening paragraph: If you enjoy this site like I believe you will, unless of course you don't have no pleasant memories of childhood or you are some fussy fart who hates cartoons and all other children's shows, then please try to have some fun. "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" used to play late-nite on Cartoon Network in that channel's infancy. It was really bad. But, once it hits about 3 am, kind of trippy. If I recall correctly, a few characters had eerie similarities to Family Guy counterparts.

It was especialy nice to see the themes from 60's Marvel adaptations. They used to play those in the afternoons on Channel 11 when I was a tyke and I haven't seen them since. Thanks. Too bad they're in .wav instead of .mp3 "All those who oppose must yeild, when Captain America throws his mighty sheild..."

Does anyone recall the owl (? might be wrong here) that sang the tune "I wanna Singa about the Moona and the Juna and the Springa..." I've long looked for that on the internets.

Wait til Your Father Gets Home really was a lame 70s sitcom cartoon family without anything offensive or non-pc--a little Archie Bunker, a little generation gap stuff, etc--the Roman Holidays too (which was an imitation of Wait, set in the Roman Empire).

Where's the greatest cartoon theme song of all time: Denver the Last Dinosaur? You can find it here (with accompanying videos!), among others from the 80s and 90s, including David the Gnome, Camp Candy (sung by the John Candy) and the short-lived but oh-so-wonderful Hammerman! He was given magical shoes by a hip-hop motown dude... So that explains it!

More on "Wait til Your Father Gets Home": In Ontario in the late 70's, this "gem" resided in the vast wasteland that was Sunday afternoon programming. Somewhere after "Animal Kingdom" and before "Wonderful World of Disney". Oh god how I wished it was Monday morning when that show came on.

Oh, cool. I'm glad to see he has the king of kid-show themes (it wasn't a cartoon), The Banana Splits. The Dickies did a wonderful version of the song in the late 80s/early 90s,and made me realize why my generation grew up so weird. (Liz Phair & Material Issue did a decent version, too, on that "Saturday Morning" compilation from the mid 90s.)

Oy, I remember Wait Till Your Father Gets Home from its original run. Seems to me it was on Tuesday nights at 7:30, or something close to that. Tom Bosley was the voice of the father, and I remember one episode where the daughter bought a see-through blouse (all the rage at that time) and outraged her dad when she said she was going to wear it sans brassiere. OK, I'll admit it....growing up, I'd watch a test pattern if it was the only thing on TV.

I remember watching Wait Till Your Father Gets Home on the Cartoon Network when I was about 11 or 12. I thought it was the most boring cartoon evar. Anyway, I actually made the Family Guy connection, too. When I first saw Family Guy, I assumed it was a Wait parody. Unfortunately, no one else had ever seen Wait, so my suspicions were unconfirmed.

the guy that does Family Guy--Seth whatever, had to have seen it if he's close to my or Oriole's age...We all saw it, i think--there was no cable then. (we watched pretty much whatever was on--it was the olden days, you know.)
