Sierra Club defends Gore

Sierra Club defends Gore record on the environment. Among the choice quotes: " I think Nader has to take responsibility not for what he wants, but for what George Bush does. . . .If you're a political leader and you follow a strategy which you have calculated is likely to produce George Bush in the White House, you have to take responsibility for what George Bush does. And George Bush is going to put into place policies that are going to cause people to die." Only 6 more days to post election topics! Yee haw!

Anybody have a good guess who is gonna be our next president? I really have no idea at this point. I am guessing it will not be Browne.
Anybody here a member of the Sierra Club? Or think their opinion means anything anymore?

I'd say the gravity of their opinions is on par with yours, 13.

And mine.

And Matt's.

Point made?

The Sierra Club has 600,000 members, Ethmar. Even George W. Bush could tell you that 600,000 is a much bigger number than 13.

Yes, but I find it really hard to believe than all 600,000 believe the same thing. I’d give you 10 to 1 odds that there is more than a handful of Nader supporters in the Sierra Club.

I love the constant guilt tripping in this interview about If Bush Wins, then people will die, as if the blood of those people will be on Nader's hands.

If that's the message they're trying to stay on, that says a lot about their desperation level.

Which tells me a lot about who to vote for. It's not Nader's campaign that's killing people. Gore's refusal to practice what he has preached will drive people either to Bush or to Nader (tomato, tomahto, right?), with whatever consequences that entails. That difference, I think, is crucial to understanding what is going on here.

Right on, Chico!
If Nader wasn't in the race at all and Gore lost it, would the Sierra Club be blaming him for not running a strong enough race?
If Gore loses, he only has himself to blame.
While I consider myself (and test as) a moderate liberal, the handwringing on the part of the Gore faithful is really getting oan mah tits...
