Who deleted the Sgrena thread?

Rescued Italian hostage shot by US army in Baghdad There was a Metafilter thread about this incident here earlier today. It's not there now. Who took it down, and why?

It was deleted by Matt because it was a double thread. Please read the rules about double thread posting ..I understand it may be a little surprising, but it's not a rule invented yesterday. Click on Metatalk and post there if you want explanation about events that happen on the main page :)

Maybe cstross overlooked the possibility of a double post and was concerned about possible censoring; that was my first instinct as well before i did a little research.
