Stationary is bad Microsoft is pushing it's new OneNote offering with this spot which is fine but don't they realise that when your sitting in a meeting your need paper and a pen to doddle while the muppet at the end of the table is droning on about sales and marketing stuff...ironic really!!

Spell/grammar check is good.

I've got to agree - motile is better than stationary, in general.

Isn't it ironic, don't you think? A little too ironic. But then I really do think... that this is a crappy post.

If the grammar doesn't burn your eyes out, the self-link will.

your (sic) need paper and a pen to doddle (sic) while the muppet at the end of the table is droning

No, what you need is a wireless laptop and MeFi.

A link to a viral for Microsoft Onenote? Seriously? WTF?
posted by monju_bosatsu at 11:49 AM on March 7, 2005

It's only viral if it's amusing or interesting to pass on. This isn't. DOA.

...interesting enough to pass on...

Good mnemonic this: Stationery has an 'e' for envelope.

I have no idea what is on the other end of that link. Really. No idea. Maybe it's adblock, but I suspect that it would suck even if I could see/comprehend it.

Okay, when I went to the link listed at the end of the movie, stationeryisbad.com, it redirected me to Microsoft's UK site. Same thing with stationaryisbad.com. Now it shows me the correct site. Hmmm...weird.

Get back to doddling, all of you.

For Goatdog.

Yes, it's terrible MIDI. But it's still better than this post!

I'm afraid to open it. I'm at work, and if an Alanis song comes out of my speakers, my coworkers will all laugh at me.

tpl:

Standard TV-ad type gag. Nothing special. Really, it deserves no better than an incoherent run-on sentence. (But don't we deserve better?)

Is English your second language? Or perhaps your FIFTEENTH?

Or perhaps your (sic) FIFTEENTHohgodwait. Oh lord. Cleverness, there. And I was just about to nail you up.

My apologies.

Um... better watch out with me, Baby_Balrog. I am a human grammar check/spell check.

does anyone actually know what irony is? the only ironic thing here is that some of you might still believe that metafilter is the smart and sassy place that it once was. this was well before my time here when membership was exclusive and i could only watch.

If you use OneNote with a tablet, it's actually pretty passable for doodling. Penny Arcade is drawn on a tablet.

Tablet PC, I should say, of course.
posted by abcde at 12:22 PM on March 7, 2005

Actually, yedgar, I do know what irony is, and it was clear that the poster does not, which is why I quoted the Alanis song in which she demonstrates that she, like the poster, does not understand what irony is. Shall I draw you a map?
posted by goatdog at 12:23 PM on March 7, 2005

even better example of irony: back when metafilter was more elitist, i was just itching for a chance to join cause i thought it be so sassy. finally, after biding my time, constantly being told that membership was once again closed, i get me chance, i manage to work my way in and...metafilter now sucks. that's kind of ironic - dontcha think?
