yeah. I'm about done with the snow now. Sure wish it was summer. Funny I never cared when I lived on the west coast. posted by joelf at 7:07 PM on March 8, 2005
Bah, we've got sunny 70 here(Portland OR), less snow this year than for a long time. posted by Wen at 7:14 PM on March 8, 2005
It has been a while since we talked Norse up here.
Anyway, I don't get it. Why leave your warm home to go freeze in an igloo? Hardangervidda is a nice place to do some cross country skiing or even maybe do some kiting (with skis), but sleeping outside? No thanks. posted by Grums at 5:11 AM on March 9, 2005

My sister and I tried to build an igloo in our front yard when we were little. We made about three blocks then got bored of the whole thing.
Er... isn't winter over where most of you live? I'm in BC and it's spring here, bigtime. No snow (hasn't been for at least a month), temperatures are heading toward 20C, skies are clear and sunny, all sorts of plants are showing buds and leaves. posted by five fresh fish at 9:24 AM on March 9, 2005
it's fairly easy to build an igloo without making blocks. just pack down a giant mound of snow and scoop out the insides until it's big enough to sit in. posted by gnutron at 10:58 AM on March 9, 2005
good thing about snow is that it covers up the dirt.. Today it thawed; all snow is gone (btw we had 20 cm; a dutch record since 1985!!) Now all this ugly city is showing itself again... We need green trees & quickly too :) that 'll still take 2 months though posted by borq at 1:37 PM on March 9, 2005
