He is an amazing photographer and a courageous man.
Also, "Diary of a Political Idiot" by Jasmina Tesanovic is a fascinating read on a related topic, albeit from a different perspective. posted by Shusha at 6:26 AM on March 9, 2005

I was in Zagreb last week, and even casual acquaintances with people turned up a lot of displaced people - in this case Croats who fled from Bosnia, Slavonia, and Voivodina - who still haven't adapted to the repercussions of the war, even a decade later. posted by zaelic at 11:43 AM on March 9, 2005
Thank you, Ljubljana - this is very compelling yet terrible. I remember sharing a train car in France once with a young honeymooning couple from Sarajevo just before the war broke out. I have often seen their faces in my mind's eye and thought of their hopefulness for the future. I think of them again today as I view these pictures.
I marvel at the photographers who record the terrible events of history, and I am thankful there are people courageous and crazy enough to give testament to events like these. posted by madamjujujive at 12:30 PM on March 9, 2005
