Little Black Sambo imagery lives on. As a friend said, it "is as much a propaganda piece for the detriment of another race as the minstrel shows were in early U.S. history. It is an interesting piece of work, updated for the current time period, but still as offensive. You may or may not find the following demeaning, and some may even get a chuckle out of it. Bear in mind, however, that in well over 150 years, the thought process regarding the subject matter below has not changed."

This post was deleted for the following reason: not sure I get what's interesting about this specific site.

I'm sure that the folks from the Stormfront white supremacy website that this links to (at the bottom of the page) are getting quite a chuckle...

There's lots of stuff about "Little Black Sambo" on the Web. I read the story as a kid.

This FPP has nothing to do with Little Black Sambo.

"Ebonics" or "Racism" might have been a better title for this post.

Plep has a link to a site full of photos of African Americans from around the turn of the century. It's not funny. Interesting but not funny.

It isn't only the white hate groups that are using Sambo to demean African Americans. This article is from the March 10th Detroit News... the Call 'Em Out Coalition (defined as a racist hate group) presents Sambo Awards. The host of the event was Sharon McPhail , an African American Detroit City Councilwoman.

'tis a strange and scary world.

I think racism is one of the worst things in our society, and all over the world.

I'm not sure what the point of this post is, exactly.

Did you guys know that some people still use the "N" word too? I mean like in the racist way?

Racism is today purely the reserve of idiots and madmen. It is healthy to laugh at it.

Unfortunately, this isn't funny.

I'm really not getting this post at all. Some white supremacists put some racist images and text online. And your friend made an obvious comment about them. (A banal, bordering on stupid, one at that.)

So what?

I'm not meaning to be picky, I just really don't understand the thinking behind the post.

WTF has this to do with Little black Sambo? And how is that book racist, anyway? I still have the copy my mom used to read to me and I don't see anything wrong with it.

As for the Stormfront link, well yeah, you'd expect some racism from those folks, big deal. And for the record, Ebonics is absurd and deserves ridicule, though we could all do without the venom, verily.

Hey! Everyone! A site called "Racial Holy War" has racist crap on it! And we can link to it via the Internet Archive! Hey, look at this!

Ah, I see Little Black Sambo likes pancakes.

How interesting.

This link doesn't deserve any attention.

Surely there's some more interesting racism out there? I mean, hasn't anyone developed Custer's Revenge 3D?
