Boing is boring?

This is so well done... I love how the sidebar info and ads are carried through as part of the whole parody (this "HOWTO: Get a link posted to Boring Boring" page, for example).

Haha... that's rad.
The amount of work that must've taken is... disturbing. Even the links are awesome.

oops, sorry seanyboy I honestly didn't see that you posted in it the thread there. Here go make an FPP out of this: googlegulp. :)

(do'h! even that is linked in the FPP to which you point. dang, more coffee for me.) By the way, the boringboring.org url is a dud now.

I was determined to think this was lame, but it's so well executed. It made me laugh repeatedly.

mokey: Everything I say is with a completely straight face. When I said Grrrr to dabitch in BIG LETTERS, I was being completely serious. I consider the fact that he posted one of my comments as a FPP one of the most serious Internet transgressions I have ever seen. I'm appalled. I'd phone 911, but for some reason, they're busy dealing with Burger King Managers.

"Grrrr" is just shorthand for "Grrrreat Post!", right?
btw, seanyboy, dabitch is a girly type

seanyboy: As an unbelievably earnest denizen of metafilter, I totally believe you. I have never heard of sarcasm. I don't even have any idea what I just said.

Even when Boing Boing takes the joke well, I feel like they're really grinding their teeth. Maybe Xeni and Cory just use too many exclamation marks.
seanyboy: I assume you meant that seriously as well and I will blog this and report you to your professor.

dabitch: sorry!
No, please God no! Not the professor!
/spends futile minutes searching for non-Simpsons related "professor of sarcasm". Fails.

The Hipster PDA has been well and truly parodied, and I couldn't be happier or more honored by the accuracy and earnestness.
Very funny stuff, although I think the fake ads are even better.

It's the earnestness that makes this one a killer, Merlin. ;-)

Very good post, very good parody. I loved the DRM talk into English best. It's funny how easy it is to come up with a typical front page for BB, which may be why I don't really read it much anymore.
I was disappointed there wasn't some (moderately) sexy thing like many of Xeni's posts.

The parody missed using rather as an adverb, e.g., I rather think that one who writes sentences quite like this one sounds a bit like a blowhard.

I love how the Boing Boing people don't seem to get that this is actually rather vicious and wouldn't be worth doing if the original didn't suck.
(although the real BB is beyond parody, especially if you have an RSS reader that shows deleted posts - they often post incredulous ravings about things that obviously aren't true and then delete them when someone smarter points out how easily their goat is got)

there's another parody ... gakker.
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, what does it mean if both of these imitations extoll the tediousness of the source?
Wake up call for Cory & the gang, I think.

i liked the newest entry
"...use of search and replace (which we just learned about last week over at Sony's Lifehacker) "
I think they probably thought of doing lifehacker, but it would have just been too easy.
