IE 6.0 : The browser for more sophisticated, computer-savvy users?

Hey, compared to MSN Explorer, MSIE seems to be engineered for Stephen Hawking, at the very least... Maybe I'm just isolated because I work with engineers and fairly sophisticated end users, but how stupid can people possibly be and still be able to find the "power on" switch?! posted by m.polo at 1:38 PM on November 7, 2000
MSN Explorer is simply an attempt to capture some of the AOL market. Bundle Hotmail, MSN Messenger and all the bells and whistles into a cute cuddly package and stick a pretty butterfly logo on it.
I just downloaded Mozilla M18 today, and I've had fun with it. It's pretty good at rendering almost everything correctly, it's still got its drawbacks, but I wouldn't die if I had to use it constantly. :)
However, right when I was going to post this, Moz started acting up, like I had the Alt key held down or something....B would take me back a page, etc. D'oh. :) posted by pnevares at 4:30 PM on November 7, 2000
I have some great ideas for Microsoft. Like release "IE6 Dumbass Version" and "IE6 Productivity Version". Or maybe simply make the right-click menu pop out immediately after pressing down on the mouse, and take out ALL pointless animations. And don't make smooth scrolling on be the default!! posted by grank at 7:57 PM on November 8, 2000
Heh. IE6 Dumbass Version. You realize of course, that means someone would come out with a book entitled Internet Explorer Dumbass Version for Dummies. posted by Aaaugh! at 8:52 PM on November 8, 2000
