What's hot in technogeekery? Match your predictions with Yahoo's ongoing search stats using $10,000 fake dollars as investment capital. Is this how Yahoo is going to steal Google's mindshare - or just another pointless thing to do with search engines?

Plus - I notice you can even invest in Metafilter (in markets under web/tagging). Yay! A chance to make my $5 back (imaginarily).

Sparx: if you invest enough into Metafilter, you get your imaginary $5 dollars instantly.

I'm up 400 imaginary bucks already.

Yet another game where the lucky bastard who dumped all his shares into one stock, guided only by his love for the real-world product only tenuously connected to the game stock, finds himself vaulted to the high score list above all who carefully treat the market like they would an actual investment plan. I'm gonna go play an RTS to get the taste out of my mouth.

This is reminiscent of Media Mammon, which is pretty fun too, for a while. Instead of search terms, it uses news mentions. I made a killing off the Pope last week.
