Another tennis player being marketed as a sex object (rather than a world class athlete, unlike her predecessor) by and to fat, 35 year old men that would likely have a heart attack if they tried to play about 15 minutes of tennis. Btw, is any of us old enough to remember what MTV did to pop music (killed it by elevating the cult of celebrity over the quality of the product) thinking that ESPN has done/is doing the same thing to sports? It must be creepy for a teen girl knowing there are people in the world who are counting down to her being legal.... it was the same with the Olsen Twins, and Lindsey Lohan, and they're all pretty much gone crazy (older men, eating disorders, drugs). Times like this I'm glad I never became the teen star I always thought I wanted to be.

The key thing to remember about Sharapova is that she's actually a great tennis player. All the "new Kournikova" stuff is just so much nonsense. I'm sure she appreciates being more marketable for endorsements, but it doesn't really matter. In the long run, she'll be known more for being a great tennis player.

Well, as mentioned before I'm a true tennis fan and Sharapova is truly a great player. Nothing like the whole Anna K. situation. I just thought the fact that someone went through the effort to make this was funny. Especially being featured on ESPN.com and all. Plus it reminded me of the Lohan Freestyle rap that was floating around a little while back. In other news this weekend is the NFL draft...go Lions!
